$50,000 Worth Of Bull Semen Stolen From Truck

Published:

Almost 3,500 units of bull semen were stolen from a truck in Turlock, California, on Sunday night.

Three tanks and a transfer tank were stolen from the truck. These tanks contained enough semen to impregnate about 1,000 cows and were filled with potentially dangerous liquid nitrogen to keep the product frozen. The value of the stolen semen was estimated at almost $50,000.

Farm owner John Azevedo said that the stolen semen came from bulls that were in the world’s top 1% for genetic quality.

Anthony Reis, who spent months collecting the semen from the bulls, said that the thieves also stole gas from the truck and likely had no idea exactly what they were stealing.

Police are investigating the theft, but no arrests have been made at this time.
