American Truckers Break World Record For Biggest Convoy

Published:

This year’s annual Make-A-Wish Foundation Mother’s Day convoy featured a record-breaking number of trucks and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help sick children.

Make-A-Wish Convoy Includes Almost 600 Trucks

The convoy took place in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Sunday. It featured a whopping 590 trucks, a number which is expected to shatter the previous record of 416 trucks set in the Netherlands as soon as the Guinness World Record group provides official confirmation. It also marks an all time high participation mark for the Mother’s Day Convoy, which has taken place every year for the past 27 years.

In addition to breaking records, the convoy also earned the Make-A-Wish foundation an estimated $350,000.

An estimated 6,000 to 7,000 spectators were on scene to cheer on the truckers and support the cause as the trucks made their way through the 26 mile convoy route.

Truckers Help Make Children’s Wishes Come True

Perhaps the best part of the day? One hundred and twenty Make-A-Wish children got to go for a ride in the trucks.

One of the convoy’s truckers has three grandchildren who had wishes granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
