Facebook Post Suggests Fatal Wrong Way Crash With 18 Wheeler Was Suicide

Published:

Investigators suspect that a man who was killed on the Florida Turnpike last night after he crashed head on with an 18 wheeler may have intentionally taken his own life based on a chilling Facebook post.

Driver Crashed Into Truck Without Headlights Or Seatbelt On

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at Exit 53 around 11:40 p.m. when a Hyundai driven by 26 year old Tzvi Yeheskel Ference driving north in the southbound lanes hit a truck head on. The truck, driven by 30 year old Yadian Palomino-Leyva, jackknifed and hit a guardrail while the car flipped upside down and came to rest on its roof. A motorist swerved to avoid the crash and rear-ended another vehicle.

Ference was declared dead at the scene. Palomino-Leyva and truck passenger, Leany Cervantes-Rodriguez, were not injured.

Police say that Ference did not have his headlights on and was not wearing his seatbelt.

Facebook Post Describes Exact Manner Of Death

Just days before the crash, Ference posted this to Facebook:

“I started driving down 195 from Miami Beach then headed north on 95 ready and determined to get onto the Florida Turnpike and drive the wrong way against traffic and crash my car head on into a truck and kill myself.”

Ference’s family said that he suffered from major depression. He claimed that he had already attempted suicide seven times in a blog post from December 2015.

You can read Ference’s full Facebook post below.

The power of שמע ישראל ה אלהינו ה אחד. I have major depression and have attempted suicide in the past. Sometimes life…
