An Idaho trooper was hurt on Sunday as she was escorting the 80 foot long National Christmas tree en route to the U.S. Capitol.
The crash happened on Highway 55 in Boise County when a Dodge pickup truck crossed over the center line and struck the escort cruiser driven by trooper Brandalyn Crapo.
Crapo was airlifted to a hospital in Boise where she was treated for non life threatening injuries.
The pickup truck driver, 45-year-old Michael Shields, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The incident is still under investigation and it isn’t clear whether charges will be filed.
The Kenworth T680 hauling the tree was not involved in the crash. It continues its 2,800 mile journey to Washington D.C.
