Minnesota State Police have released images of the truck that they believe may have been involved in the fatal crash that killed two teen brothers near Dalton last summer.
Brothers Killed In Crash En Route To Basketball Camp
The crash happened on I-94 on June 23 around 9 a.m. Zachary Kvalvog, 18, was driving a pickup truck north to take his 14-year-old brother Connor and two other boys to basketball camp. According to police, the truck ran off the road onto the shoulder, overcorrected, then rolled into the median. Both Kvalvog brothers were killed. The other two boys were hurt.
One of the survivors told police that an 18 wheeler came “extremely close” to the pickup.
Investigators Seek “Truck of Interest”
Police say that they do not believe that the truck in question hit the pickup. Instead, they believe that the 18 wheeler may have cut the pickup truck off.
Using GPS information from the nearby Red River weigh station along with time-distance analysis and video from police vehicles, investigators were able to capture an image of the truck that they believe was involved in the crash.
The truck is a dark blue late 80’s or early 90’s Kenworth model T600 or T800 with an Aerodyne sleeper. Police think it has a KW T680 Grille Guard. Police believe that the license plate contains a sequence of numbers containing 024 or 025. The trailer of the truck is white with no distinguishing markings.
