The shooting took place on December 8 around 1 a.m.

Fifty-two year old truck driver William Schumacher had only been hauling packages between processing plants for UPS for about four weeks when he stopped into a Walmart.

When Schumacher exited the Walmart to head back to his rig, a man in a black pickup truck shot him and ran over his body before fleeing the scene.

The suspect, who would later be identified as 38 year old Justin Barkley, barricaded himself in his home for hours but finally surrendered peacefully. He confessed to shooting and running over a man in the parking lot.

He was charged with second degree homicide.

Shooter Intended To Assassinate Trump

In a New York court on Monday afternoon, Barkley stated, “I shot and killed Donald Trump purposely, intentionally and very proudly.

Barkley claimed that he knew that Trump would be at the Walmart at that specific time and that he “went there to purposely shoot and kill him and put him down.

Schumacher’s family wept in court while Barkley made these claims.

When he was asked if there was any way that he would believe that he had killed another man instead of Trump, Barkley replied, “I would hope not.

Barkley attempted to enter a guilty plea, but the judge ordered a psychiatric evaluation to determine if he is fit to stand trial.
