A police impersonator pulled over a truck driver for speeding last Friday, then jumped on the hood of his truck, broke off his antennae, and commanded the trucker to apologize to Jesus.
BMW Driver Pulls Over Trucker For Speeding
The incident took place on I-43 just south of County Road V in Wisconsin. A man in a black 2006 BMW who was later identified as Haris Mackic reportedly believed that a truck driver was speeding at over 70 m.p.h., so he followed the driver and made several attempts to get his attention by flashing his blinkers and changing lanes in front of the truck.
Police Impersonator Launches Bizarre Attack On Driver And Truck
The truck driver said that Mackic eventually pulled out in front of the truck and dropped down to speeds of less than 10 m.p.h. The truck driver pulled over to the side of the road. The driver said that Mackic ran up to the driver’s side door and identified himself as a law enforcement officer. Mackic then reportedly shouted at the driver, climbed onto the hood of his truck, broke off his antenna, and told the driver to apologize to Jesus.
When real law enforcement arrived on the scene, Mackic was still holding the antenna. He threw it under the truck as the deputy approached.
Impersonator Claims To Work In Same Department As Deputy
Mackic also told the deputy that he was a law enforcement officer. When the deputy asked which department, Mackic claimed he was in the same department that the deputy worked in. The deputy said that he knew all of the officers in the department and did not recognize Mackic.
Mackic also told the officer that he’d spotted the trucker driving over 70 m.p.h. The truck driver responded that he was in a governed truck and was unable to go faster than 64 m.p.h.
The officer did arrested Mackic. He was charged with impersonating a peace officer, disorderly conduct, and criminal damage to property.
Just before this incident, another trucker called 911 to report that a black BMW was trying to force him to pull over.
