Two Dead Following Shooting At Texas Trucking Company

Published:

Two people died this morning at a Texas trucking company as a result of a disgruntled employee shooting.

The shooting took place at Knight Transportation in Katy, Texas just after 9 a.m. According to reports, a disgruntled employee shot and killed one coworker, injured at least one other employee, and then turned the gun on himself. Authorities say he was armed with both a shotgun and a pistol.

Police say that the gunman had been fired earlier this morning. The identities of those involved have not been released, but Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman says the shooting victim may have been the shooter’s supervisor.

Multiple shots were fired.

The employee who survived the shooting had only minor injuries to his face and was not hospitalized. A police officer hurt his knee while entering the building and was taken to the hospital for treatment. There are no other reported injuries at this time.

Two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school have been placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Police have swarmed the Knight Transportation building.

This is a developing incident still under investigation.
