The FMCSA has declared that a California based trucker is an imminent hazard to public safety and has placed him out of service for habitual drug use.
Driver Tested Positive For Drugs Four Times
In May of 2015, an FMCSA investigation revealed that Crane had tested positive for either amphetamines or methamphetamine three times since 2012. An additional drug test performed during the investigation also tested positive for methamphetamine. Crane saw several substance abuse counselors since 2012, but failed to complete or to fully comply with any treatment programs.
Crash Occurred After Trucker Declared Unqualified To Operate A Commercial Vehicle
Crane was declared unqualified to operate a commercial vehicle in June of 2015.
In January of 2016, Crane was involved in a crash. His 18 wheeler lost control and hit a concrete barrier before overturning. He was cited for failing to maintain control of his truck.
Crane was ordered to submit to a drug test following the crash, but he failed to report to the drug testing facility.
