ATA: Trucker Turnover Hits 5 Year Low At Large Carriers

Published:

The American Trucking Association has announced that driver turnover rates at large carriers fell to their lowest rate since 2011.

According to the ATA, turnover rates at carriers with more than $30 million in annual revenue dropped to 81%.

At smaller carriers, the turnover rate rose slightly to 80%.

Truck driver turnover at less-than-truckload carriers also fell to 9%.

The ATA says that the soft freight market continues to drive trucker turnover rates down, but they forecast an end to the weak demand and a resulting rise in driver turnover soon.

The ATA report also states that in spite of the drop in turnover, carriers are still struggling to find qualified drivers.
