Utah Man Convicted For Attempt To Bribe CDL Road Tester

Published:

The Department of Transportation announced today that a Utah man has pled guilty to charges of attempting to bribe a public servant after he reportedly offered money in exchange for a passing score on his CDL road test.

According to the DOT release, Robert Laudemann contacted a third party CDL testing service in February of 2015.  The tester says that Laudemann offered to pay him $1000, which he believed to be a bribe in exchange for a passing score on the CDL road test.

After a joint investigation involving the Department of Transportation and the Utah Department of Public Safety into the incident, Laudemann pled guilty to bribery charges in Wasatch County District Court on August 24, 2016.

He was sentenced to one year in prison and one year of probation. The prison sentence was suspended. The court also ordered Laudemann to pay a $1000 fine.
