Man Creates Pickup-Sized Big Rigs

A Nashville based truck lover is gaining international attention for his work transforming pickup trucks into mini-semis.

Bob Suffern and his all-female team sell modifications kits (starting at about $13,000) that bolt onto the existing frame of a pickup truck to turn it into a nearly perfectly proportioned mini big rig. Suffern originally conceived the idea for creating tiny trucks in 1999 and has been selling the conversion kits since 2003.

He says that the reaction from the public can be overwhelming: “You can’t even go to the gas station without getting a reaction – there are always people coming up to you asking you questions and finding out where they can get one.

Suffern’s team also produces a small number of customized, fully finished mini 18-wheelers per year, starting at $65,000.
