Family-Run Truck Stop Closing Its Doors For Good

Published:

A Missouri truck stop that has been family-run for over 30 years is going out of business soon, according to local reports.

The Wiedmaier’s Truck Stop and restaurant off of I-29 in St. Joseph will be closing its doors to to the public for good soon. According to reports in the News-Press Now, modifications are already being made to the property to make it more inviting to potential buyers.

Though an on-site manager and employees have confirmed that the truck stop is closing, there is no official closing date set yet.

Many who visited the Wiedmaier’s Truck Stop remember it for its good customer service, driver lounge, and home-style food options.

I make hauls through St Joseph on I-29 once or twice a month. I make it a point to stop in for the french toast, delicious. Also the fuel prices are always a few cents cheaper than other stops along the way,” said one driver.

Another driver remarked, “The way truck stops should be — great food, awesome service, reasonable prices…And they actually care and appreciate your business. Best home meal food in the area. They give you large portion every meal of the day. Awesome shower and clean bathrooms. The best part of my day was I chilled in their TV room while they are doing some minor repair on my tires at their service center.
