55,000 Pound Truck Swallowed By Sinkhole In Georgia

A HydroVac truck hauling 1,600 gallons of water was swallowed up by an eight foot sinkhole in Hall County, Georgia, this morning.

The incident was reported at the Diamond Auto Spa on Wallis Road near  I-985 around 8 a.m. The truck driver had parked in the area around 7:45 a.m. when the ground suddenly gave way beneath his vehicle.

On scene reports estimate that the sinkhole is eight to ten feet deep and 20 feet wide.

No injuries have been reported.

Crews are working to remove fuel and water from the truck to make it lighter and easier to extract from the sinkhole.
