Pennsylvania Turnpike Tolls Going Up On Sunday

Published:

Starting on Sunday, drivers using the Pennsylvania Turnpike will pay an extra 6% in tolls.

The toll hike is intended to fund a 10 year infrastructure spending plan as well as to cover increasing pension costs and to fund mass transit.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission says that they plan to continue to raise tolls by 3% to 6% each year until 2044.

For commercial vehicle E-ZPass customers, the most common toll will increase from $9.59 to $10.17. Truck drivers paying in cash will see their most common toll increase from $13.60 to $14.45.

This is the ninth year in a row that the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has voted to raise toll rates.
