No injuries have been reported.
Multiple agencies and more than 30 fire fighters responded to the blaze.
Investigators are still working to determine what caused the truck fire.
Miles long traffic backups have been reported in the area, with many drivers exiting their vehicles and standing outside on the roadway. It isn’t clear when the northbound lanes of the interstate will reopen.
Four years in Charlotte. Dozens of I-77 stories. This is a first. Interviews on the interstate. No where for traffic to go. One driver has pizza another has soda. They are trying to keep a good attitude @wsoctv pic.twitter.com/BkYBml7UVS
