A truck driver and Army veteran’s show of respect for a fellow serviceman’s funeral procession uplifted hearts across America over the weekend.
Army Vet Stops To Salute WWII Veteran’s Funeral Procession
The photo was captured along I-70 in St. Louis County, Missouri during the funeral procession form 91 year old Navy veteran Fred Ladage. In the photo, you can see Missouri-based truck driver and army veteran Bradley Faulkner as he pulled his rig over on the side of the interstate and placed his hand over his heart in a gesture of honor and respect for Ladage.
The was posted on Facebook by Ladage’s granddaughter Kristin Collins, who wrote, “While in the funeral procession today to Jefferson barracks to lay my grandfather to rest a man driving a truck pulled off and made honor as we all proceeded. Thank you for showing such great honor – I found and got to personally thank this man!! 💙 #USN #USNR #WWII #goodgoesaround.”
Just hours after Collins posted the image on Facebook, it had been shared so many times that it reached Faulkner’s wife. The two were able to connect and Faulkner drove out to meet Collins at her home, where they were able to exchange hugs and talk.
Faulkner told news station KSDK, “It doesn’t change or alter your life at all to maybe lift up that one family and say, ‘Hey, in your time of need, I’m here for you whether I know you or not.”

Faulkner’s show of respect was even highlighted on Fox News, where it “sent patriotic shockwaves across America.”
The story has resulted in an outpouring of positivity from people all across the county.
