Jefferson County Police discovered a tractor trailer hauling over half a million dollars cash towards Mexico.
Authorities located the vehicle on May 30, 2018 in Lafayette, Louisiana. The semi was later pulled over in the Beaumont area on Interstate 10 near mile marker 848.
According to JCSO, a total of $500,219 was found in a suit case, as well as a handgun. The truck was believed to be hauling drug money to the Texas-Mexico border.

The driver allegedly had no knowledge of the money or gun in the back of his trailer. He has been released but the case is still under investigation.
