A flaming semi truck forced the closure of a portion of Interstate 81 in Virginia early on Tuesday morning.
The accident happened at around 3:40 a.m. in Montgomery County, Virginia.
According to The Roanoke Times, the semi truck was already parked along the side of I 81 just east of Christiansburg and entirely engulfed in flames by the time that firefighters arrived.
Luckily, no one was injured in the blaze, but the fire did force the closure of the northbound lanes along that section of I 18. All northbound traffic was detoured to U.S. Route 11/460 – Lee Highway.
The wreckage was cleared just before 7 a.m. The initial cause of the fire has not been made clear.
