Four mile traffic backups have been reported due to a huge truck fire in the New Orleans area.
The truck fire was reported on eastbound I-10 near I-310 in St. Charles Parish.
According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, the truck driver got out safely. No injuries have been reported.
Eastbound I-10 is closed between LaPlace and I-310.
Louisiana transportation officials have reported four mile traffic backups due to the interstate closure.
I-10 East bound remains closed at the I-310 South / I-10 East split due to a vehicle fire. Traffic is being diverted to US 51. Congestion from this incident is four miles.
