“Unknown bystander” pulls trucker from burning rig ahead of emergency responders

Published:

A trucker’s life was saved by a Good Samaritan after his rig caught fire in Florida on Tuesday.

The accident happened on February 2nd at around noon in Jacksonville, Florida.

According to First Coast News, a semi truck hauling a roll-off dumpster overturned on Interstate 295 at Alta Drive and caught fire, trapping the driver inside.

The Jacksonville Florida Fire and Rescue Department reports that an “unknown bystander” then jumped into action, running towards the flames and pulling the driver from the wreckage.

The trucker was then taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A big thank you to unknown bystanders who witnessed this wreck and got the driver out of this vehicle before it was fully engulfed in flames,” the fire department tweeted.

“Truly a heroic and lifesaving feat.”
