A few less Jack O’ Lanterns will make it to Halloween after semi truck fire

A semi truck fire burns pumpkins to a pulp on the 5 Freeway in California early on Wednesday morning. 

The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. on October 25th on the southbound 5 Freeway and Smokey Bear Road in Lebec, California. 

According to KTLA News, the semi truck was hauling a load of pumpkins when it caught fire. The incident left hundreds of burnt pumpkins along the roadway as crews worked to battle the blaze. 

No one was hurt in the incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. A portion of the 5 Freeway southbound was shut down through 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. No further information has been released.
