North Carolina truck stop a total loss after overnight fire

Firefighters responded to an early morning blaze that destroyed a North Carolina truck stop on Tuesday.

Firefighters responded around 1 a.m. on January 2 to the Kings Mountain Travel Center located off I-85 in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.

Seven agencies responded to the two-alarm structure fire. It took about an hour to knock down the fire.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries while responding to the fire, WCNC reports.

Officials say that the Kings Mountain Travel Center is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Cleveland County Fire Marshal’s Office and Kings Mountain Police Department.
