40,000 pounds of ribeye steak “total loss” after semi truck fire

A load of ribeye steak was pronounced a “total loss” after a truck fire in Missouri early on Monday morning. 

The fire happened on August 18th near Doolittle, Missouri in Phelps County along Highway 174. 

According to First Alert 4, the tractor trailer was hauling a load of ribeye steak when it caught fire while heading eastbound on Highway 174. 

The Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District unit responded to the scene and stated that “unfortunately they are all a total loss.”

Both eastbound lanes were completely shut down during the response to the fire. The cause of the fire has not been released.
