An Ohio-based carrier specializing in refrigerated trucking services was recently acquired by Nagle Companies, a temperature-controlled food transportation provider.
On August 25, 2025, Nagle Companies announced the acquisition of Kandel Transport Inc., based in Akron, Ohio.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The companies say that after the acquisition, the joint operation will feature 115 tractors, 200 trailers, and generate approximately $45 million in annual revenue.
“The acquisition gives Nagle additional strategic advantages, including Kandel’s cross-border operations into Canada. The combined scale also increases negotiating power in areas such as fuel, equipment, and parts purchasing, while providing capital efficiencies that benefit both employees and customers,” the companies said in a news release.
Kandel Transport will continue to operate under its existing name and structure for the time being as the companies work towards integration.
“Kandel Transport has built a strong reputation for integrity, safety, and reliability,” said Ed Nagle, President & CEO at Nagle Companies. “We saw early on that our companies shared not only the same values, but also complementary strengths. By joining forces, we’ll be able to provide enhanced resources, upgraded technology, and stronger network opportunities for our customers while supporting the talented team at Kandel.”
“This partnership allows Kandel to remain true to who we are while also giving us access to resources that will strengthen our long-term future,” said Jack Daniels of Kandel Transport. “Our drivers, staff, and customers will benefit from the expanded opportunities, modern technology, and operational expertise that come with being part of the Nagle family.”
