Attorney Issues Truck Driver A ‘Mafia Threat’

Published:

'Mafia Threat' Dominic Barbara, grandson of the infamous mafia boss Joseph “Joe The Barber” Barbara, is being investigated by the Suffolk County DA for allegedly making mafia threats to truck driver Ray Young Jr.

In 2007, Barbara, a celebrity divorce attorney, represented Young in a custody dispute.  Young claims Barbara was overpaid by $200,000 and has filed a claim with the Bar Association. While the Bar Association investigates Young’s claim, Barbara is not able to practice law.

According to the New York Post, on August 30, Barbara called Young’s phone and left a voice message saying, “Ray, it’s Dominic Barbara. Before you call me back, I’d like you to Google . . . Joseph Barbara. Mafia. That’s my grandfather,” he allegedly said, along with, “Anthony ‘Tony Ducks’ Corrallo, that’s my real godfather.”

Barbara went on to say, “Maybe we’ll come over and see you later, if you want. I just don’t have your address. So why don’t you call me back.’’

When the New York Post contacted Barbara about the claims, Barbara told them he was just trying to “scare [Young] off.”

Young told the Post Barbara was, “threatening me like a mobster.”

Barbara has represented infamous clients Joey Buttafuoco and Michael Lohan (Lindsay Lohan’s father).

This isn’t Barbara’s first go-around with the wrong side of the law.  In 2007, Barbara was ordered to forfeit $100,000 paid to him by a drug trafficker, money Barbara conceded was paid to him though ‘no legal work was performed,’ the Smoking Gun reported.

Since then, he has a few other run-ins with the law for violating an order of protection against his ex-wife.
