Busy Rest Areas Temporarily Closed

Published:

Busy Rest Areas Temporarily Closed This Weekend  A couple of rest areas along busy highways have also announced they will be temporarily closed, making it even harder for drivers to find available parking.

Arizona:

Information taken from the Arizona Department of Transportation:

The Interstate 10 rest areas at San Simon in eastern Cochise County continue to be closed while Arizona Department of Transportation crews repair the water systems at the facilities.

The water pressure problem, which affects the rest areas on both the eastbound and westbound sides of I-10, began Sunday morning and requires closure of the rest areas through Thursday, August 30.

Motorists traveling in that area can use the truck stop off Exit 382 in San Simon as an alternative until the rest areas reopen.

The Texas Canyon rest area on westbound I-10 also remains closed for improvements through the rest of this week. The eastbound Texas Canyon rest area is open and alternate facilities also can be found in Willcox and Benson.

Texas:

“The Texas Canyon rest area on westbound I-10 also remains closed for improvements through the rest of this week,” The Associated Press reported, “The eastbound Texas Canyon rest area is open and alternate facilities also can be found in Willcox and Benson.”

Drivers, if you know of any other rest areas that are temporarily closed, please share the information with us.
