Celadon Acquires Selected Equipment, Assets From Robinson Transport, Inc.

Indiana Trucking Company CeladonCeladon has made headlines lately for making numerous acquisitions.  In the recent months, Celadon has acquired Hiner, USA Dry Van, Glen Moore,  American Eagle, Teton and now the company has announced another acquisition.

INDIANAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Celadon Trucking Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Celadon Group, Inc. (NYSE: CGI) announced today that it has agreed to purchase a portion of the operating equipment of Robinson Transport, Inc., based in Columbus, OH. The terms and conditions of the transaction were not disclosed. Celadon’s approach in this transaction is to increase its density in its traffic lanes in and out of the Midwest and reinforce its driver pool. Robinson is a significant provider of truckload shipments in and out of the Midwest, which enables Celadon to fulfill one of its primary goals of increasing its freight volumes and lane density in one of its primary freight lanes.
