Child Found Alone, Wandering Truck Stop

Published:

Child Found Alone, Wondering Truck Stop in TennesseePolice need your help identifying two men who stole a car off of Bentfield Drive in Antioch, Tennessee with a 5-year-old boy in the backseat and later abandoned the boy and then the car.

AT 8 p.m. Tuesday night at the TA off of Old Hickory Boulevard near Interstate 24 in Antioch, Tennessee, Toni Lutfit says her husband found the young boy wandering around the truck stop crying.

“My husband saw this little boy coming towards us in the parking lot parking and I turned around and when I looked down I saw him sobbing hysterically and I said ‘I’m going to help you,'” Lutfit told Channel 5 news. “I took his hand and we walked through Burger King and the whole length of the thing and I promised him I wouldn’t leave him until we found his mom.”

Lutfit stayed with the boy until authorities showed up.

“Police recovered the stolen car at the truck stop but have no leads to where the car thieves turned kidnappers might be. But investigators don’t think they just let the boy out in the truck stop parking lot,” Channel 5 reported.

“They dropped the child off in the area, where exactly the child was dropped off is in question right now. It looks like the child walked from whereever they dropped him off to the TA truck stop,” said Metro Police Captain David Imhof.

If you were at the TA in Antioch and have any information, please contact the Metro Police at (615) 862-8600.
