Truckers Against Trafficking Ad SquareCHICAGO, IL–(Marketwire – Dec 20, 2012) –  Cobra Electronics Corporation (NASDAQ: COBR), the leading designer and marketer of Citizens Band (CB) radios, GPS navigation systems, and wireless hands-free driving solutions for professional drivers, today announced its support of Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT). TAT, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to informing and educating truckers and travelers about domestic sex trafficking and battling the issue within the trucking industry.

Cobra Electronics has donated some of its professional driver products to TAT in its efforts to minimize the illegal practice of human sex trafficking that occurs throughout the United States. The Department of Justice estimates that anywhere between 100,000 to 300,000 of children are in danger of entering the sex for sale industry each year in the U.S.

“It is widely documented that illegal human trafficking passage takes place within the trucking industry and at truck stops throughout the country,” said Sally Washlow, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Cobra Electronics. “Cobra is committed to the safety and well-being of the trucking industry and supports Truckers Against Trafficking.”
