Chris Young came out of Murfreesboro, TN like a shot, destroying the competition on the USA Network’s country songwriting reality show competition Nashville Star. That got him the connections in Nashville he needed to fund and record his first big album.
Contrary to what happens to the “winners” of TV singing contestants, Young continued to impress all the right people and bigger and bigger audiences. He hasn’t looked back since.
His album Neon was released in July 2011 and has shown quite a bit of staying power. His latest single “You” just came out a month ago in early 2012, and became his fifth straight number one single.
He’s announced he’s working on a new full-length studio album, but we’re not sure why he would, since he could continue to spin gold out of his last release well into 2012.
