Truck drivers are in high demand in the state of Kansas. The Department of Commerce is looking to train people to fill nearly 2,000 open truck driving positions in the state, mostly in the oil and gas industry.

This may also be good news for people who are thinking of entering the truck driving profession, because in order to fill this peak demand, the Kansas Department of Commerce is offering truck driving tuition scholarships to men or women who show specific promise or willingness to complete a CDL course at one of the many qualified schools in the state.

For more information on training sites in your area and a list of available truck driving jobs, visit the Kansas State Job site and create a truck driver job profile.

To find out if you are eligible for tuition assistance, call KansasWorks at 877-509-6757.
