Food Storage Options for Truck Drivers

Published:

12 Volt Cooler Semi TruckWe’ve heard it so many times over the past few month – eating at a truck stop is expensive. We try and publish a lot of stories that show truck drivers what kind of healthy options they have at the truck stops. But sometimes, the best plan is to bring fresh food and ingredients from home, and cook it in the cab with some quality appliances built for semi trucks.

We thought we would help get the search for travel coolers and refrigerators started by offering a few suggestions. Most are affordable, a couple of them are investments. One thing is for certain though – they’ll all pay for themselves in food savings within the year.

A few qualifications – some of the food storage options we feature in this article aren’t for every truck. Your truck may not have enough room to house a 3 cubic foot refrigerator. Some truck drivers might not require that much storage, and just need a small powered cooler to keep some sandwiches and water bottles cool during the day. So do a little extra research to get a good match for your truck.

And if you have any questions about what appliance might be best for your truck, we’ll do our best to answer your questions. You can always head over to our Facebook group for advice too. We have a family of 26,000+ pro truck drivers who can help you out!
