Illinois Truck Driving Championship to Be Held on June 16

Truck Driver Competition IllinoisThe Illinois Trucking Association will host the Illinois Professional Truck Driving Championship Competition in Morris on Saturday, June 16.

The public is welcome to the event, which will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, 2400 Ritchie Road, Morris, Illinois.

The event, sponsored by the Illinois Trucking Association, is designed to promote safety and professionalism within the industry.

Admission is free and attendees will have the opportunity to view course competitions of 142 drivers from 21 companies who have accumulated 165 million miles of lifetime accident-free driving.

The course consists of six pre-defined driving problems requiring a great deal of skill and tenacity on the part of each driver. Drivers have 10 minutes to complete all six problems. The judging is on a point system and there will be three judges for each course problem.

Competing drivers must have been accident free for one year prior to the competition.
