Truck drivers who passed through the Kansas Turnpike on Tuesday and Wednesday were surprised to learn that fuel at the service areas had ran out.
Today, tankers arrived at the Towanda (MM 65)and Matfield Green (MM 97) service areas and refilled the tanks.
Kansas.com reported the problem began when the service areas’ fuel provider was experiencing some “issues” that prohibited the provider from delivering the fuel.
“PCF Saleco is experiencing some difficult business issues and requested this change so KTA customers will continue to have continuous access to fuel,” a statement on the Turnpike Authority’s website said Wednesday.
The service areas offer gas and fuel for drivers in need.
The Kansas Turnpike tweeted, “Wanted to make sure you saw the news that all 6 Turnpike service areas have fuel and are open for business!”
The Kansas Turnpike operates 6 service areas. All 6 areas offer fuel and services to drivers.
