Man Hit By Truck While Fleeing The Police

Louisiana Man Ran Over By Truck On Wednesday, a little before 8:00 a.m., the Calcasieu Parish Combined Anti-Drug Task Force  was conducting traffic stops near Vinton, Louisiana, when they stopped a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Matthew Quentin Tatum.

Upon inspection, the officers found 4 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of Tatum’s vehicle.

Authorities then handcuffed Tatum.

Handcuffed, Tatum fled on foot from the officers and ran into the east bound lanes of Interstate 10 and was struck by a 2005 Volvo driven by  Charles H. Guidry, 58, of Lake Charles.

Tatum died at the scene.

According to Sgt. James Anderson of the Louisiana State Police, no charges have been filed, however, the accident remains under investigation.
