A 29-year-old Corning, New York man has been arrested for stealing a Byrne Dairy truck Saturday night and leading police on a chase.
According to authorities, police attempted to stop the speeding truck, but the driver refused to pull over. Troopers began pursing the truck. During the chase, the troopers learned the truck had been reported as stolen.
Troopers were finally able to get the man to stop after placing spike strips in the truck’s path to deflate its tires.
Andrew J. Passmore was taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal possession of stolen property and numerous vehicle and traffic violations, The Leader Corning reported.
