A short time ago we asked you if you thought IRT should get a new cast, bring back Lisa Kelly or scrap the show entirely. Today’s Trucking has announced the show’s newest cast member and it’s not a female. It appears the cast will remain male dominated for the next season.
We will bring you more news and information about the show as it comes available.
Manitoulin Transport Goes Ice Roadin’
MISSISSAUGA, ON. — Manitoulin Transport is sending veteran truck driver Alex Debogorski to represent the company on the new season of Ice Road Truckers.
Debogorski, who has more than 30 years’ experience driving, will be taking on Canada’s remote Dempster Highway, stretching up into the Arctic Circle connecting the Klondike Highway in the Yukon to Inuvik, in the Northwest Territories. Think unseasonably warm weather and thin ice.
“Taking an 18-wheeler out onto a frozen body of water, far from civilization, takes skill, dedication, and physical and mental endurance,” said Gord Smith, CEO, Manitoulin Transport. “We’re proud to have Alex represent us because he shares those qualities with our own drivers.”
Smith added that they’re also proud to demonstrate Manitoulin’s geographic coverage and equipment “it takes to deliver vital goods, such as food, tools and medical supplies, to the people and industries in remote regions of North America that depend on us to get them there, and get them there on time.”
The popular show, Smith said, does an excellent job of exposing the important work that trucking companies do, and how vital trucks are to remote communities.
Ice Road Truckers, Season 6, airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, beginning August 29.
