The trucks were stolen from Crop Protection Services. According to police, all the stolen vehicles had the keys in the ignition. Police say the stolen vehicles were “a crime of opportunity.”
The trucks–2 Volvos, a flatbed and a fertilizer truck– were found abandoned or wrecked within miles of where they were stolen from.
According to WPSD TV, employees began finding the abandoned trucks along their routes to work.
“One semi was found in the middle of Kentucky 339, still running and with the flashers blinking. Nearby resident Shawn Kelly says the truck was in a precarious location,” WPSD eported.
Corp Protection Services told WPSD that from this point on, the company will be locking up the keys and surveillance cameras will be added.
