Oscar Javier Contreras Escobar, a truck driver, had just finished a delivery in Victorville, California on August 28, at 6:30 a.m., and parked his truck.  A friend picked him up and dropped him off at Fontana near Foothill Boulevard and Mango Street, where an identified female was supposed to pick him up.

That was the last time Escobar was seen. His family, who was used to hearing from him had not heard from him in a nearly week, reported him missing on September 4.

“His phone is either turned off or the battery has died since,” Investigator Don Voght of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department told the OC Register.

Voght said investigators believe Escobar may be the victim of foul play and noted they have found suspicious activity on his ATM card in the recent weeks.

“Escobar lives in Laguna Hills, but he frequents the Inland Empire. He also stays in motels in Fontana. Several family members live in Lake Forest,” the OC Register reported.

Escobar is described as a Latino man, with brown eyes and a bald head.  He weighs approximately 135 pounds and is 5 feet 5 inches tall.  He has a mustache and goatee.  He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, brown cargo shorts and white Nikes with a black swoosh.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 714-647-7055 or 714-628-7170.
