No Overnight Truck Parking In Public Places In This Pennsylvania Town

Published:

Marple, PennsylvaniaFinding a available, safe place to park is getting increasingly harder for drivers.

On October 10, 2012, Marple Commissioners voted 6-0 for an ordinance that would prohibit commercial vehicles from parking in any park, school or recreation area owned by the township.

The ordinance was proposed because trucks were left parked overnight in the parking lots of local schools and parks.

“We wanted something on the books to make it prohibited,” Township Manager Tony Hamaday told the Delaware County News Network. “Commercial vehicles can take up spaces for residents wishing to use the parks.”

The nearest truck stop is 12 miles away in Paulsboro, Pennsylvania,  just off of Interstate 476, exit 18.
