Ohio To Pass Bill That Bans Hidden Compartments

Ohio To Pass Bill That Bans Hidden CompartmentsOhio is expected to adopt a new law to combat drug trafficking.  If passed, the law would prohibit hidden compartments in vehicles.

“The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that during a two-year period that ended in February 2012 there were about 70 cases in which hidden compartments were discovered in vehicles suspected of carrying drugs,” Land Line Magazine reported.

On Tuesday, June 12, the House voted 77-16 in favor of the bill.  On Wednesday, the bill moved swiftly through the Senate floor.  The Senate signed off on the bill, SB305 and passed it on to the governor for final approval.
