“Spirit of the American Trucker” On Tour

Published:

Spirit of the American Trucker Back on Tour This summer, OOIDA’s “Spirit of the American Trucker” will begin touring on a regular basis.  The tour will visit truck stops and truck shows across the country.

“Spirit” is the official name of OOIDA’s tour truck.  The truck will be driven by OOIDA senior member Jon Osburn of Boise, Idaho.  Osburn has been a member of OOIDA since 1993.

The trailer is a mobile information and display center, where truck drivers can visit and learn more about OOIDA and its activities in the regulatory and legislative areas.

“The OOIDA display rig is an important element in our outreach to truckers and the sharing of information on the important issues the Association is working on,” Michael Schermoly, told Land Line Magazine.  “While we have had the truck on the road a few times this year for spot events, we are pleased to have Jon’s involvement as we resume a comprehensive, continuous tour.”

Drivers who visit the display will have the opportunity to join the Association at the reduced price of $25.

No tour dates have been announced. Land Line Magazine reported, “After fine-tuning the dates, the schedule of what truck stops and events are on Jon’s itinerary will be published in Land Line Magazine, will be posted on the Association’s websites and Facebook pages, and will be frequently broadcast on OOIDA’s satellite radio show, Land Line Now, on Sirius XM Road Dog Channel 106. “
