TCA Launches “Truckload Authority” Magazine

Published:

TCA Safety Professional 2012Truckload Authority will not only communicate TCA’s activities and initiatives to our members, but will provide exclusive and pertinent insights, news and industry analysis you just can’t get anywhere else, said Robert Low, TCA’s chairman and the president and founder of Prime inc., of Springfield, Mo. Truckload executives will find this tool to be a significant resource for helping them manage their businesses, which is what belonging to TCA is all about.

[pullquote align=”right”]The first issue will arrive in mailboxes of Truckload Carriers Association members on June 1st. It will be available for view online in abbreviated form for non-members at the TCA homepage, and The Trucker. [/pullquote]Truckload Authority is written, produced, published, and distributed by The Trucker, America’s trucking newspaper. The inaugural issue includes articles about current and proposed trucking-related legislation (including the likelihood of Congress passing the highway bill), fuel efficiency, driver health and wellness, upcoming TCA meetings and events, etc. One highlight is a Tracking the Trends column focusing on the latest technologies and other movements impacting the industry. For another column, called Member Mailroom, TCA staff and/or industry experts answer questions submitted by the membership.

The new publication is the brainchild of TCA’s immediate past chairman, Gary Salisbury, president and CEO of Fikes Truck Line, Inc., of Hope, Ark. Salisbury felt that TCA needed an all-in-one platform for educating, informing, and building goodwill between the organization’s leadership and members. In addition, he envisioned Truckload Authority as a vehicle to promote a positive image of the professional truck driver and spotlight TCA’s efforts in this area. We have needed this platform for a long time, and I am humbled and thankful that I get to be a part of the first issue, he said.

After the inaugural edition, Truckload Authority‘s second issue will come out in December 2012. Thereafter, it will be produced quarterly.
