Over the weekend, a truck carrying $150,000 worth of 20 oz. Coca Cola bottles was stolen off of Westgate Drive in Orlando.
The theft is the second truck theft in the last 2 months.
“Ronald Jones, 42, of Alabama, told police he parked 2001 blue Freightliner on Friday and checked it Saturday without noticing any problems. But the tractor-trailer was gone when he returned at midnight, the report stated,” the Orlando Sentinel reported.
In another incident, Harriet Tiffany, 59, of Orlando, reported that someone had removed one of the locks on her truck’s trailer door and a yellow seal had been broken as well. Tiffany says nothing was taken from her truck.
In July, a truck loaded with washers and dryers was stolen from the same area and found empty and abandoned three days later.
Investigators have not said if they believe the thefts are related. No additional information about the stolen trucks has been released.
