Published:

Oregon Truck Driver Saves Man's Life On Thursday night, the family of 82-year-old  Gordon Lee Smith reported him missing.

On Friday morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., a log truck driver was traveling Highway 36 near Triangle Lake, in  Blachly, Oregon and spotted a car that had gone down a steep embankment.

The log truck driver then called 911.  When responders arrived, they learned the car belonged to Smith.

“Investigators suspect that Smith’s vehicle traveled off Highway 36 on Thursday afternoon. He was subsequently unable to get out of his car or call for help, police said,” the Register Guard reported.

Responders extricated Smith from his car and he was then transported to the hospital.  The Register Guard repots that Smith appeared to be uninjured but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The log truck driver’s name has not been released.
