Truck Explodes, Electrical Shortage May Be To Blame

Published:

Fed Ex Truck Explodes, Electrical Shortage May Be To Blame Fire investigators believe an electrical shortage may be to blame for the fire and explosion of a Fed Ex truck. The incident happened on Thursday in southern Dickson County in Tennessee, nearly a mile from Love’s.

According to The Tennessean, the driver reported smelling “something electric burning.” As he turned the corner onto Harris Road, the cab caught on fire.  The driver and passenger were able to escape unharmed.

Witnesses told the paper that they heard explosions and saw smoke.  A second explosion occurred minutes later.

Smoke from the fire could be seen at the 3/10 of a mile away at Love’s.

Firefighters were able to keep the blaze mostly contained to the cab; however, the trailer sustained minor damage.

At this time, it is unknown what caused the shortage.
