When Decker Truck Line heard that the Fort Dodge, Iowa Toys For Tots had lost their lease and had just two weeks to vacate the property, Decker jumped in and offered its services.
The company provided a truck and trailer and helped move all the charity items from one location to another. They did the entire move in only 2 days.
“On September 26th, First Sergeant Eckardt presented the leadership of Decker Truck Line with a decorated paddle made by the Marines of the Inspector-Instructor Staff,” Layover reported.
The Marines give out the paddles to companies or individuals that go above beyond the call of duty to help others in their community.
In addition, a $1,000 was given to Toys For Tots in memory of Dale Decker, Sr., a 2nd World War Marine Corp Veteran.
