Trucking Company Offers Percentage Pay to Drivers

Published:

Builder’s Transportation Company, of Memphis, Tennessee, is offering company drivers the option of a percentage-based pay system.

Experienced drivers will earn up to 27%, while student drivers will have a graduated pay system.  New drivers will earn 24% for the first 6 months, 26% for the next six months, and then after a year, new drivers will earn 27%.

“Freight rates are increasing, so this is an ideal time to convert our mileage-based drivers to percents.” said BTC’s CEO Dwighty Bassett. “We are so sure that our drivers will earn more under this percent program, that for the first four weeks, BTC will pay the difference between percentage and mileage, if the mileage pay is more.”

BTC is a flatbed carrier. The company has been family owned since 1961 and owns or leases more than 500 tractors.
