Trucking Company Owner Pleads Guilty To Drug Ring Charges

Texas Man Pleads Guilty To Drug and Money Trafficking

A Mission, Texas man has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to launder money and cocaine between Mission and Atlanta, Georgia.

Jose Francisco Serna owned a furniture store and a trucking company.  Serna used his businesses to launder money and used his trucking company to haul the cocaine.  According to investigators, the cocaine was transported int he truck’s axle.

“During 2008, Serna had owned a furniture store in McAllen and then got involved in the cocaine trade on the side, court records show. Once in the trade, Serna began Four Seasons Transport, a trucking company that was used to move cocaine loads between Mission and Savannah, Ga. The drugs and the money were hidden in the axle compartment of the trucks,” The Monitor reported.

In August, Serna was arrested after spending several years on the run as a fugitive in Mexico.

Serna has yet to be sentenced for his crimes.  He could face 10 years to life for the drug trafficking charges and up to 20 years for money laundering.
